Living with chronic pain is tough. Everybody choses to live with it differently. I manage it in various ways, but the one you see here on my blog or on social media is via art and writing. Although neither take away the pain, it does help me focus away from it as well as transfer any emotions about it onto paper either through ink and writing, ink and color with an abstract drawing or something specific that hurts – like my hand, shoulder, or hip. There are common places that hurt and then there are new places that come and go like a domino effect every year. But I do the best to manage it. Today, I’m writing about the creative ways I self express and explore the emotions, feelings and body parts that deal with pain. Stay tuned for the other ways I manage or just deal with it, but it’s complicated and never easy.
